CUSTOM CAMBER/CASTER PLATE SPACERS

The Maximum Motorsports camber/caster plates are one of the best versions of aftermarket adjustable camber/caster plates for Mustangs, but after a few alignment adjusting cycles, the mounting bushings (washer and thin metal sleeve combination) were showing signs of wear and were actually digging into the bottom of the plates and deforming the metal. Custom stainless steel spacers were fabricated to eliminate the original mounting bushings and to provide a much more solid platform for the plates to mount on.

Stainless Steel Spacers

Here are the custom spacers that were machined from stainless steel by a local machine and fabrication shop.

(0.750" H x 1.063" OD x 0.531" ID)

Old and New

These spacers are a much more solid platform for the camber/caster plates to mount on than the original washer and sleeve combination. As you can see the sleeves were showing signs of "mushrooming".

Original Configuration

This is the way the original washer and sleeve combination is installed. The thin sleeves aren't much of a platform to mount the camber/caster plates on.

Installation

Installation is very simple: just remove the camber/caster plates and replace the washer and sleeve combination with the stainless steel spacers.

Finished Product

Stainless steel spacers installed and ready for duty. These spacers should give many years of reliable performance, and will probably outlast the camber/caster plates!
