Throttle Position Sensor Setting You want to check it in Volts with a digital volt-meter. With the key on/engine off you want to probe the black wire (ground) on the TPS and the green wire (positive). In theory, the closer you come to 1.00 volts without going over, the better throttle response you will have. So, 0.99 volts should be the best (i have mine set at 0.96). If you go over 1.00 volts, you may or will have driveability problems. If you need to adjust the TPS because the reading is too low, you need to loosen the two Phillips head screws holding the TPS on the throttle body. To increase the voltage, turn the TPS clockwise and counter clockwise to decrease the voltage. Sometimes the screw holes will not allow you to adjust the TPS to 0.99 volts, so you may have to drill out the TPS screw holes a little bit to make them larger or slotted in order to get the setting you want. Once at the desired voltage, tighten the screws and you're done.
