Race Report 2011 - NSTC SCCA Event #1

Results: 20th in Class (22), 68th Overall (70)

This was a National Street Tire Callenge event. Its a fairly new SCCA sanctioned series specifically for those who compete on street tires. This series also has quite a bit of prizes up for grabs for various categories, including a brand new set of Bridgestone tires, so I was pretty excited about attending this event.

However... I failed miserably. I dont know if it was my 4 year old tires, or if I was out of practice, or if it was just the course design (maybe it was a combination of it all), but my car just wasn't handling very good at all. It had some major oversteer going on, and it was a struggle to keep the rear tires from breaking loose every time I accelerated out of a corner. My times were not very good compared to all the other cars in my class (Street Touring Shootout), which was fairly large with 22 cars total. That is the down side to attending National level events... I usually get my butt kicked.
