Race Report 2005 - Denver National Tour

Dates: July 30-31, 2005
Venue: Denver International Airport - Denver, CO
Results: 2nd in Class (3 total), 91st Overall (251 total)

I always enjoy racing in Colorado.  The mountains are awesome, and the weather is usually great during the summer... except for this event. It was HOT, HOT, HOT!!!

The competition in B-Street Prepared was very close even though we only had 3 of us in the class.  My times were really close with Jim Harrison in his 1972 Corvette.  On Saturday, I was down by 0.695 seconds to Jim, and even though I had the fastest class time on Sunday, I was only able to decrease that difference to 0.502 seconds so I ended up in 2nd place in class for this event. In the video of my fastest run from Sunday, you can hear my frustration right after I made the mistake that cost me the win.  Regardless of the heat, sunburns, and the 2nd place finish, it was still a blast as well as a much needed vacation from my normal life.

Steve Sucsy from the West Texas Region was also at this event and was able to get some great photos of the M3 while on the course (see below).
