Race Report 2005 - Round 3

Venue: Miller Field - Dalhart, TX
Results: 1st in Class (2 total), 1st Overall (19 total)

Once again, we had farm equipment on the north end of the venue, so I just modified my course design from the March 20th event a little bit.  I would've liked to set up a course on Miller Field's concrete that permits 60+ second runs, but it turned out pretty good considering. 

As usual, the car was awesome.  I also got a new video camera tripod head for my in-car mount that keeps the camera much more stable.  There were no shifter karts at this event, but Jay Messenger and Jeff Maddox came out in Jeff's new Formula car to give it a good shake down before his next road racing event.  Steve Sucsy was also there (A-Stock Honda S2000 but was bumped into BSP with me) and was really fast as usual, but I was able to edge by him by only 0.059 seconds for top Overall PAX. 

The next two events will be at Kimbrough Stadium in Canyon, TX.  I normally don't run at this venue, but Benjamin Hampton has graciously agreed to let me co-drive his STS2 Miata again at both events, so that I can gain some much needed points for the Open Championship.  Thanks Benjamin!
